Africa Prosperity Network (APN) has announced an open logo design competition for the ground-breaking “Make Africa Borderless Now!” The campaign will be officially launched at the 2026 African Prosperity Dialogue (APD).

Young creative designers, visual artists and cultural innovators from across Africa and the diaspora are specifically invited to submit original logo designs that capture a transformative vision of a united, borderless continent where people, goods, services, capital and culture move freely between all 54 countries.

    Contest details

Submission deadline: Friday, January 23, 2026
Winners Announced: Monday, January 26, 2026 at the APD 2026 Press Briefing
    Prize: $1,000
Official Announcement: To be held at the Accra International Conference Center from 4th to 6th February 2026.
    Official submission link: https://makeafricaborderlessnow.com/logo-challenge/

Note: Youth participation is strongly encouraged.

The winning design will become the visual identity of the largest citizen-led movement in African history, which aims to mobilize 10 million signatures from Africans on the continent and in the diaspora. This historic petition will be presented to Heads of State and Government at the 40th African Union General Assembly in Addis Ababa in February 2027.

Design brief: Visualizing an Africa without borders

Applicants are encouraged to create designs that embody the following:

    • Continental unity – abolishing colonial-era artificial borders and ensuring seamless movement across Africa.
    • Cultural richness – the diversity and vibrancy of Africa’s 54 countries, languages, traditions and artistic heritage.
    • Youth and Innovation – The energy, creativity and entrepreneurship of Africa’s youth.
    • Economic transformation – the power of the AfCFTA single market to connect 1.5 billion people
    • Pan-African identity – a visual language that resonates from Cairo to Cape Town, from Dakar to Dar es Salaam, and across the African diaspora around the world.
The logo must be versatile, culturally resonant, instantly recognizable and able to inspire millions of people to join the movement calling for the full implementation of Africa’s single market and the removal of barriers that constrain our collective prosperity.

“This campaign represents a defining moment in Africa’s journey towards true integration,” said Siddig Eltoum, CEO of Africa Prosperity Network. “We are calling on African creative talent to help us visualize what an Africa without borders is and will be like, a continent without visas, a place where young entrepreneurs in Nairobi can transact seamlessly with customers in Lagos using only their mobile money wallets, a place where graduates in Accra can get jobs using certificates in Addis Ababa, and a place where our shared culture and innovation can flow unhindered.”

    Submission guidelines

    Designers must submit:
    • Original logo design in vector format (AI, EPS, or SVG)
    • A short statement (maximum 350 words) explaining the design concept.
    • Variations suitable for digital and print applications
    • Full color and monochrome versions
    Complete submission guidelines
The competition is open to young professional designers, students and amateur creators of African descent from around the world. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of creative experts, campaign partners, and representatives from the APN Secretariat.

    About “Make Africa borderless now!”

‘Make Africa Borderless Now!’ is a pan-African citizens’ movement based on 12 key priorities, including visa-free travel, open skies, digital trade integration, cross-border mobile money interoperability, mutual recognition of skills and qualifications, and the creation of a unified African customs union. The campaign addresses Africa’s major contradictions: that intra-continent travel remains more difficult for many Africans than for non-Africans, a major failure of continental solidarity that constrains economic growth, youth opportunities and cultural exchange.

The campaign will be officially launched during the Africa Prosperity Dialogue 2026, which will be held from 4 to 6 February with the theme “Empowering small businesses, women and youth in Africa’s single market: innovation, cooperation and trade”.
