The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has signed a memorandum of understanding and license agreement with California-based PromptBio. data and life science companies.

According to the statement, the partnership will enhance integrated multi-ohm data analysis; artificial intelligence (AI)-driven insights from the Clinical Multiome Atlas Platform (Clin-MAP) based on CSIR.

Multi-ohm data analysis is the study and integration of multiple layers of biological information from the same cell sample to obtain a more complete picture of cell function.

Clin-MAP aims to create a pan-African integrated clinical multi-ohm data repository to democratize precision medicine efforts in the region, foster sustainable research and development efforts, and foster healthcare innovation in Africa.

What PromptBio uses A.I. Analyze multi-ohmic data such as genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics to support biological research. By teaming up, CSIR’s Clin-MAP will be able to use PromptBio’s AI tools in conjunction with its unique multi-ohm profiling capabilities to expedite potential treatment targets in African populations across various disease groups.

“Access to the PromptBio platform and AI-guided insights represent game-changing benefits as we look to move multi-ohm datasets into Africa-relevant translational technologies,” said Dr. Jeroren Naidoo, Co-Principal Investigator at Clin-MAP. It will empower young African researchers across the network.”

Using integrated multi-ohm data analysis from CSIR and PromptBio, researchers can study complex diseases that involve multiple layers of cellular function. These include cancer, understanding how genetic mutations and protein activity interact to drive tumor growth and drug resistance, and cardiovascular disease, understanding how genes, transcripts, and proteins influence heart disease risk and progression.

Dr. Setobane Mangena, Executive Manager, CSIR Future Production: Chemistry Cluster, added, “We are excited about the prospects of this collaboration and look forward to the value created by the synergy between PromptBio’s advanced AI and the fundamental scientific expertise within CSIR. This partnership will add tremendous value and support our efforts towards achieving healthcare sovereignty on the African continent.”

Xiao, CEO of PromptBio Dr. Yang added, “This collaboration with CSIR represents an important milestone in our mission to democratize access to advanced multi-omics technologies among diverse populations. By combining PromptBio’s AI-driven analytics platform with CSIR’s research infrastructure, we are unlocking the potential to develop treatments and diagnostics specific to African populations and addressing critical gaps in global medical research.”

Dr. Yang continued, “We are particularly excited about the Clin-MAP initiative, which will provide valuable insight into disease mechanisms unique to African communities and potentially lead to breakthrough discoveries with global impact.”
