Lafarge recognized outstanding customers and transport partners at the 2025 Customer & Transporter Awards held at the Landmark Events Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the commercial ecosystem.
The ceremony, hosted by Lafarge Africa, brought together key stakeholders from across the construction value chain, including government officials, board members and industry partners, to attend what the company described as the culmination of its annual commercial calendar. The event recognized the outstanding achievements of customers and logistics operators whose activities support the company’s national market penetration.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were members of the Lafarge Africa Board of Directors including Adenike Ogunlesi, Olusola Owole and Elenda Oshima-Dokubo, as well as Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Morufe Akindele Fatai, Cross River State Chairperson for Women Affairs. The company’s management and staff also attended.
Lafarge Africa, which operates in a construction market shaped by infrastructure deficiencies, rising input costs and changing regulatory priorities, used this platform to highlight the importance of resilient partnerships in sustaining growth. The award is regarded internally as the highest recognition of commercial excellence and celebrated customers and carriers for their strong performance despite changing economic conditions.
Ubon Bassey Obot of Ubotex Nigeria Limited was crowned the National Volume Champion. Mr. Cosmas Ezeumeh Chizoba of CC Umeh and Sons Limited and Mr. Etim Effiong Okon of Batoframoje Enterprises secured the first and second place respectively.

In the logistics category, BIG MultiQuest Nigeria Limited was named the national winner in the Best Transporter category and was awarded a 2026 Toyota Hilux. Two national growth champions received a 15KVA generator set, and four regional champions each received a Toyota RAV4 vehicle. Welcoming the guests, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lol Alade Akinyemi, stressed that Lafarge Africa’s growth trajectory would be incomplete without the insight, trust and sustained commitment of its trading partners.
He said 2025 was a year of commercial expansion and product innovation for the company. Lafarge Africa has expanded its retail footprint, strengthened its ready-mix concrete business and introduced new solutions aimed at sustainability-minded builders and developers.
He highlighted the launch of Ecoplanet Elephant and Ecocrete, low-carbon cement and concrete solutions designed to reduce fixed carbon during construction, as part of the company’s alignment with global sustainability trends and environmental performance standards. He noted that these innovations were supported by digital tools and operational technologies aimed at improving efficiency and customer experience.
“We are here to value partnerships. In 2025, we expanded our retail presence and intentionally focused on the customer experience. We strengthened our ready-mix business and launched innovative low-carbon products. We could not have achieved this without our customers and transportation partners,” said Alade Akinyemi.
Commercial Director Gbenga Onimowo said customers and carriers were champions of the trade and their belief in the company’s brand reinforced its strong position in the market. He emphasized that shared values, trust, loyalty and integrity define the mutually beneficial relationship between the company and its partners.
“You are an essential part of our business, making our products visible and accessible across the country. Tonight’s celebration gives us an opportunity to recognize our collective victories and inspire even greater achievements in the year ahead,” Onimowo said.
From a logistics perspective, Nigeria’s geographical size and infrastructure constraints make efficient logistics a strategic differentiator. Logistics Director Osaze Agatise acknowledged that carriers are an important bridge between Lafarge Africa and end-users, ensuring timely product delivery and nationwide availability.
He recognizes that the award serves as a performance benchmark that motivates partners to continually improve their service standards.
