Mercy Ehi Ebute’s recent academic achievement as the top graduate in the Department of Intelligence and Global Security at Bays College’s 12th Convocation Ceremony, thereby earning her a Master of Science in Intelligence and Global Security in the School of International Relations and Diplomacy, Class of 2025, is a moment worthy of celebration, not only for her, but for all who believe in the transformative power of perseverance, hard work, and faith.

Murthy’s accomplishment is not only an academic milestone, but a powerful testament to resilience in the face of competing demands and life’s inevitable pressures.

Her journey as a student, a working adult, and a parent has not been easy. It required discipline, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to a vision bigger than ourselves.

In addition to over 20 years of experience in the banking sector, he has a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, balancing demanding academic demands with professional responsibilities.

Family life is deeply testing her strength. But through it all, Mercy moved forward and relentlessly pursued excellence.

Looking back on her journey, Marcy admits it hasn’t always been smooth. There were moments of exhaustion and doubt, and times when I felt like giving up.

But she chose persistence over surrender, faith over fear, and determination over discouragement. Today, that choice has culminated in an accomplishment she can look back on with pride and gratitude.

Outside of the classroom, Marcy is widely known as a creative writer whose voice reflects depth, insight, and purpose. As Executive Director of Sustainable Initiatives to Foster Growth at SING Africa, a frontline non-governmental organization, she demonstrated a passion for community development and sustainable growth.

Mercy is also the Director of the Future One Africa Network, where she continues to contribute meaningfully to initiatives aimed at shaping a better future for Africa. Her academic pursuits in intelligence and global security have further strengthened her ability to critically engage with global issues, security dynamics, and policy dialogue, and her skills will undoubtedly amplify her influence in the leadership and development fields.

Marcy was quick to stress that this success wasn’t just hers. At the center of her journey is her husband, whom she describes as “steady as a rock” and a reliable pillar of strength and encouragement.

“His unwavering support has given her the stability and confidence she needs to get through the toughest of seasons. She is adamant that this accomplishment is as much his as it is hers.”

Marcy dedicates this success to her children as a living lesson. Her story is one of hope and example, and a reminder that no matter how tough life is, perseverance pays off. Through her actions, she has shown that dreams are valid, that hard work matters, and that resilience can turn hardship into victory.

She also expressed deep gratitude to her mother for her unwavering love, prayers, and encouragement, who supported her through the most difficult times. Its steady presence, rooted in faith and unconditional support, served as a source of strength when the journey felt difficult.

Marcy’s gratitude extends even further to the community that has accompanied her throughout this academic pursuit. She speaks warmly of her coursemates, whose camaraderie enriched her experience, and her instructors, whose influential approach to knowledge shaped her intellectual growth. Together, they formed a collaborative ecosystem that reinforced the values of collaboration, mentorship, and shared purpose.

As Mercy Ehi Ebute celebrates this well-earned achievement, her story resonates far beyond the qualifications she currently holds. It is a story of balance amidst complexity, faith under pressure, and triumph through resilience.

Her journey inspires professionals, parents, students, and dreamers alike to keep moving forward, even when the road is difficult.

Indeed, this graduation is not the end, but a bold beginning. And as Marcy steps into her next chapter of service, leadership, and impact, she not only comes with academic honors, but also with a story that inspires many to never give up.
