The event will be held in conjunction with the East Africa Infrastructure & Water Expo from June 26 to 28, 2025 at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa. More than 180 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, including China, Germany, India, Italy, Kenya, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, will offer innovative building and infrastructure solutions

Big 5 Construct Ethiopia, organized by DMG Events and sponsored by the Ministry of Urban Infrastructure, is scheduled to be held again for the third edition from June 26 to 28, 2025 at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa. Coinciding with the 1st East Africa Infrastructure & Water Expo, the event creates a strategic trade exhibition that supports Ethiopia’s $67 billion construction market and $395 billion infrastructure market, enabling cross-sector cooperation and expansion in the region.

Thanks to the strong support of Ethiopian government ministries, especially the Ministry of Urban Infrastructure and the Ministry of Tourism, the event continues to grow in its impact and scale. Their continued collaboration has helped position Addis Ababa as a leading destination for high-impact trade exhibitions such as Big 5 Construct Ethiopia and East Africa Infrastructure & Water Expo. This support is making a significant contribution to the country’s economic diversification and growing profile as a regional hub for business and innovation.

Prior to the event, DMG Events held a press conference at the Ministry of Urban Infrastructure headquarters in Addis Ababa, highlighting that the event is in line with Ethiopia’s national development goals. With a focus on sustainable construction, resilient infrastructure and water systems, the concurrent events aim to support national strategies that prioritize urban growth, housing accessibility and climate-smart development.

Commenting on the sidelines of a press conference, Minister of Urban Infrastructure Chartu Sani said: “Globally, the construction sector is an important indicator of a country’s economic growth. In Ethiopia, this industry currently contributes around 19% to the national GDP, although it has yet to reach its full potential. We continue to witness significant growth, positive results and renewed momentum across the sector.”

dmg Ben Greenish, executive vice president of events, said at a press conference: “Big 5 Construct Ethiopia and the East Africa Infrastructure & Water Expo, with the valuable support of the Ministry of Cities and Infrastructure, “The impact of these exhibitions extends far beyond the construction industry, delivering significant benefits to the broader economy and creating a ripple effect across the MICE industry and related sectors.” The scale of business undertaken, the quality of knowledge exchange and the momentum generated during the event will contribute to enhanced economic activity, investor confidence and long-term sector growth, particularly in the construction and infrastructure ecosystem, attracting investment, supporting job creation, influencing trade flows and ultimately contributing to sustainable development. ”

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Urban Infrastructure Yetemugeta Asrat. Mr. Jonas Ayariu, Engineer and CEO of ECC. and Josine Heijmans, senior vice president of construction for dmg events.

The Big 5 Construct Ethiopia and East Africa Infrastructure and Water Expo attracts over 180 exhibitors from over 20 countries, bringing together product suppliers and service providers from across the construction and infrastructure value chain. Exhibitors include Jotun, Asian Paints, NAFFCO, Stanley Black and Decker, SCAFFCO, Wilo, Alpha Post Tension, Emirates National Copper and more.

These events will also enable industry dialogue through strategically selected, invitation-only East Africa Infrastructure & Water Summits. The summit will convene government and industry leaders to consider infrastructure financing, PPP models and regional cooperation. Featured voices include Eng. Mr. Hanan Ahmednur from the Ministry of Irrigation and Mr. Mesfin Negawo, Director General of the Ethiopian Construction Authority.

Supporting the professional growth of construction industry professionals through learning and development opportunities, the event will feature content programs including Big 5 Talks, Infra360 and Water360. Hosting more than 20 sessions, these programs are designed to help professionals stay competitive, informed, and compliant with national and international industry standards by delivering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certified content.

The Big 5 Construct Ethiopia and East Africa Infrastructure and Water Expo is approved by the Ministry of Urban Infrastructure and partners include the Ethiopian Construction Corporation (strategic partner). Ethel Events (local event partner) and ABiQ (knowledge partner). Supporting organizations include the Ethiopian Institute of Architects, the Chartered Institute of Building Engineers, the Ethiopian Society of Civil Engineers, the Ethiopian Association of Construction Technology and Management Professionals, the Ethiopian Green Building Council, and the Ethiopian Project Management Association.

Registration for the free event is now open to trade and industry professionals with 18+ years of experience. For more information, please visit www.big5constructethiopia.com. www.eastafricainfra Structureexpo.com
