With just one week left until the MSGBC Oil, Gas and Power 2025 Conference and Exhibition, West Africa’s leading energy and mining conference is preparing to welcome regional and international stakeholders to Dakar. The event, to be held at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD) from December 8 to 10, 2025, will bring together government leaders, global investors, and industry executives under the theme “Energy, Oil and Mining in Africa: Synergies for Inclusive Economic Development.”

The 2025 edition comes at a pivotal time for the MSGBC basin following first gas from the Greater Tortue Armayim LNG development and first oil from Senegal’s Sangomar field. This is a milestone that marks a new phase of production growth and economic opportunity for the entire region. Exploration across Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea-Conakry is also accelerating, supported by new seismic data, competitive financial incentives and increased regional cooperation.

Explore opportunities, foster partnerships and remain at the forefront of the oil, gas and power sector in the MSGBC region. To secure your participation in the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference, please visit www.msgbcoilgasandpower.com. To become a sponsor or participate as a representative, please contact sales@energycapitalpower.com.

The program begins on December 8th and includes a full day of pre-conference efforts. The Senegalese Society of Petroleum Engineers holds an annual technical workshop, providing a platform for knowledge sharing on practical industry topics such as gas field management, local content related to infrastructure, production optimization, and ESG integration. The workshop will be complemented by a closed-door CEO meeting, which will convene executives, ministers, and financial institutions for confidential discussions on basin investment strategies, cross-border development, and long-term energy security.

The conference will open on 9 December with a grand high-level opening ceremony attended by senior representatives from the African Energy Chamber, BP, Woodside Energy, the African Petroleum Producers Organization, the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries and Gabon’s Ministry of Water and Energy Universal Access. The ceremony culminated with a presidential address by Senegal’s President Bashir Diomai Fay, highlighting the country’s growing leadership in regional energy development and inclusive and diversified growth strategy.

A central highlight of the program is the Ministerial Dialogue on MSGBC Regional Cooperation, bringing together the Energy Ministers of Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea-Conakry. This session will consider approaches to policy harmonization, equitable energy access, sustainable resource management, and investment attraction as the region expands oil, gas, and mining activities. Throughout the two-day conference, attendees will also gain insight through presentations and panels on cross-border gas initiatives, power market integration, critical minerals, downstream development, Côte d’Ivoire’s evolving energy landscape, updates on national projects across West Africa, and more.

Industry leaders from across the basin, including BP, Kosmos Energy, Woodside Energy, TGS, Apas Energy and national energy companies, will share the latest information on exploration pipelines, drilling activities, infrastructure plans and new investment opportunities. Their participation reflects growing confidence in the long-term potential of the MSGBC basin and the importance of cooperation to advance new hydrocarbon, power and mine development.

The conference will conclude with post-event activities on December 11, including a networking golf day and a cultural trip to Gorée Island, to foster further engagement and relationship building among participants. As the countdown enters its final week, MSGBC Oil and Gas Power 2025 will play a decisive role in guiding the next phase of the evolution of West Africa’s energy and mining, driving investment, strengthening cooperation, and supporting a sustainable and inclusive future for the MSGBC region.

“MSGBC Oil, Gas Power 2025 marks a defining moment for the region. This year’s conference will bring together partners, policymakers and investors who will shape West Africa’s next decade of progress,” said Sandra Jeke, Events and Projects Director at Energy Capital & Power.
