community wolf, A South African startup is reimagining the future of public safety by building AI-powered safety technology. Today, we are announcing the acquisition of Namorathe nation’s most trusted emergency response app.

The move brings together two of South Africa’s best-known safety platforms, bringing together two critical layers of safety, community intelligence and professional emergency response, into one integrated model.

South Africa’s security situation remains one of the most fragmented in the world. Many crimes go unreported, public response times vary, and most citizens feel they have limited means to keep themselves and their families safe. By integrating Namola with Community Wolf, we directly address these challenges by introducing two critical layers of safety under one unified model.

Community Wolf enables everyday South Africans to report crimes, suspicious activity and safety concerns directly through WhatsApp, without the need for app downloads or specialized hardware. This information is processed using AI models to generate real-time reports that create a living map of what’s happening in neighborhoods and cities across the country. These insights can be used by law enforcement, private security groups, community protection forums, and other stakeholders to respond to threats more proactively and efficiently.

Namola, on the other hand, connects users across the country to medical, fire, and public safety response personnel across the country. This service is provided by a dedicated emergency response partner aurais a life-saving technology platform that makes emergency response services more accessible and affordable. AURA provides critical back-end infrastructure and a nationwide response network that enables more South Africans to access high-quality emergency assistance when they need it most.

The acquisition will see Namola continue to operate as a standalone product within the Community Wolf ecosystem, combining real-time community intelligence with expert national emergency response to help South Africans build safer communities.

Warren Myers, CEO and co-founder of AURA, said: “Namola has established itself as one of South Africa’s most trusted safety tools and we are proud to continue to strengthen its emergency response network.”

“With the rise of AI, we are now entering a world where we can detect and respond to crime faster than ever before. This acquisition will integrate Community Wolf’s AI-powered tools with South Africa’s most trusted safety app, thereby significantly improving the safety of Namola’s customers. We believe this acquisition will strengthen our partnership with Community Wolf and strengthen AURA’s efforts to strengthen emergency response infrastructure across the country.”

Community Wolf co-founder Nick Mills said: “We have deep respect for the Namola brand, its founders and previous leadership. We believe that with renewed focus and energy, Namola can regain its position as a household name in South Africa’s private emergency services.”

Fellow co-founder Michael Horton added, “Community Wolf has quickly become a disruptive force in the safety space. What started as a simple WhatsApp-based reporting tool has evolved into a rapidly expanding safety ecosystem serving both individuals and organizations.”

“With the addition of Namora, Community Wolf is positioned to accelerate our mission to ensure South Africans have access to the fast, reliable and community-based safety services they deserve.”
