Architectural solutions company, Lafarge Africa Plc, has announced a new themed campaign tagged “Beyond Buildings” that aims to highlight its impact and contribution to infrastructure development in Nigeria. The campaign was announced recently in Lagos by Mr. Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lafarge Africa Plc.

Alade-Akinyemi noted that the campaign highlights how Lafarge, through innovative and sustainable architectural solutions, continues to shape the socio-economic development and progress of Nigerians and Nigeria by contributing to the construction of iconic buildings, bridges, stadiums, hospitals, roads, etc., and ultimately supporting the growth of the country as a whole.

“For over 60 years, beyond manufacturing building solutions, we have been helping build Nigeria’s infrastructure development and the very foundations of its future. With our innovative solutions, we have provided essential building materials for numerous landmark projects and contributed significantly to the country’s development. This also extends to expanding national production capacity, creating jobs and livelihoods, developing local communities and introducing innovative products to meet Nigeria’s evolving construction needs,” he said.

He described the campaign as a celebration of strength, innovation, history, shared success and the power of progress, noting that this is the story of the company’s humble beginnings, dating back to 1960, when its first factory began production.

“The Beyond Buildings campaign tells the story of our vision: to be the leading building solutions company that creates a greener planet and drives innovation and operational excellence that enable national progress. It shifts the story from our products to the significant impact we have on human lives. Our materials will be transformed into national landmarks, powering jobs, livelihoods and development in every state,” he said.

In his remarks, Mr. Gbenga Onimowo, Commercial Director of Lafarge Africa, emphasized that the Premier Viewing is an opportunity to share the compelling reason to tell the company’s story ‘beyond buildings’.

“Our campaign highlights the immense progress built on the concrete of trust since 1960. Our materials are integral to iconic landmarks such as the National Theatre, the First and Second Niger Bridges, the Third Mainland Bridge, the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, and countless national, commercial, academic and residential buildings across the country,” he added.

The event was attended by many prominent figures from the architecture and construction industry, as well as the arts, culture, media and entertainment industry, as well as many of the company’s esteemed clients, including veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD). Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw.
