    The first international conference “Trusted Artificial Intelligence: Russia-Africa 2025” concluded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event served as a platform to strengthen scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and African countries in the development and implementation of reliable and ethical artificial intelligence technologies.

    The forum was hosted by leading Russian and Ethiopian universities and research institutes, including the AIRI Institute, Moscow University of Technology, Communication and Information Technology (MTUCI), Addis Ababa University, and the Ethiopian Institute of Artificial Intelligence. The conference was supported by “Rossotrudnichestvo” and the Russia House in Addis Ababa.

    The conference aims to bring together experts, scientists, business representatives, and government officials to collaboratively find solutions to global challenges using trusted AI technology.

    The conference explored key areas of trusted artificial intelligence applications that are driving modern global trends. Researchers presented an overview of innovative healthcare solutions, including the use of AI in stroke rehabilitation. Significant attention was paid to the role of technology in improving efficiency and transparency in public administration and the judiciary. In a session on finance and inclusive growth, experts discussed how artificial intelligence can help SMEs close the financing gap and manage risks in key areas. The agro-industrial complex has become a hot topic with the development of Agriculture 4.0 aimed at ensuring food security. Participants also discussed the potential of predictive analytics to optimize industrial processes, the role of AI in improving resilience to climate change, and the integration of AI into intelligent transportation systems in smart city initiatives.

    Key speakers included representatives of major Russian research centers such as AIRI, MTUCI, and ISP RAS, as well as international technology companies such as Amazon. Ethiopian participation in the event included leading professors and researchers from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopian Institute of Artificial Intelligence, and other universities.

    “The future of the world will be built on trusted artificial intelligence. Russia is a key participant in this process. We are convinced that the technological sovereignty of the BRICS countries must be based on ethical and safe solutions developed in cooperation with each other. , because science is a global collaboration of experts. This conference clearly demonstrates the common interest of Russia and Africa in technologies that are not only effective, but also safe, transparent and serve the interests of humanity,” said Dr. Oleg Rogov, Associate Professor and Director of the Institute. AIRI-MTUCI Safety AI Research Institute.

    “This conference demonstrates the common interests of Russia and Africa in the development of reliable and secure artificial intelligence technologies. MTUCI, as a leading research center in information technology, is actively involved in building this partnership. The scientific potential of Russia and Africa, the science of our country The integration of schools and educational resources will create a solid foundation for the development and implementation of innovative solutions. We are ready for joint research, educational projects and exchange of experiences that will benefit the sustainable development of both countries,” said MTUCI Rector Sergey Erokhin.
