Dr. Rose Ndong, President of the Dakar Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). and SPE Africa Director Dr. Riverson Oppong will be participating as keynote speakers at the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 Conference and Exhibition. The two leaders are scheduled to deliver keynote speeches at the official SPE workshop to be held in Dakar on December 8 as part of this year’s program.

The SPE Dakar section serves as a technical and professional hub for Senegal’s emerging oil and gas industry. Under Dr. Ndon’s leadership, this section will focus on strengthening local expertise, improving technical excellence, and supporting the implementation of Senegal’s Local Content Law 2021. As Chair, Dr. Ndong oversees efforts to foster workforce development, knowledge sharing, and the integration of national skills and services across the energy value chain.

Explore opportunities, foster partnerships and remain at the forefront of the oil, gas and power sector in the MSGBC region. To secure your participation in the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference, please visit www.msgbcoilgasandpower.com. To become a sponsor or participate as a representative, please contact sales@energycapitalpower.com.

Dr. Oppong leads SPE Africa, a regional organization representing the entire continent that connects thousands of professionals to global technical resources, training, mentorship, and professional development. Dr. Oppong also serves as CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Petroleum Marketing and Companies, an industry association that advocates for downstream petroleum policy, laws and regulations.

SPE Africa plays a central role in driving capacity development, promoting sustainable technologies and supporting regional cooperation through major events and specialized technical workshops.

The MSGBC Oil, Gas Power 2025 SPE workshop will convene operators, investors, policy makers and technical experts for an intensive discussion of Senegal’s expanding oil landscape. This session will explore three priority areas: opportunities for local content in gas infrastructure, challenges in gas field management, and development strategies for production optimization. Topics include gas-to-power, floating LNG support services, pipeline extensions, and logistics and supply chain management opportunities. This is a key component that aligns with national local content requirements.

The workshop will further address the technical and commercial complexities associated with deepwater development, infrastructure limitations, market volatility, and the balance between LNG export revenues and domestic energy needs. SPE is in a position to outline approaches to improve production efficiency through digitization, capacity building and transparent governance, while integrating environmental, social and governance considerations.

The participation of Dr. Ndong and Dr. Oppong underscores SPE’s commitment to supporting the country’s evolving energy sector as Senegal accelerates production from the Sangomal oil project and increases production from the Greater Tortu-Ahmeim development. Their keynote presentations will provide stakeholders with advanced insights into regional capacity development and technological pathways shaping sustainable industry growth.

“SPE’s participation brings unparalleled technical depth and industry insight to this year’s program, supporting stakeholders as Senegal expands its oil and gas operations. SPE’s leadership in capacity building and knowledge transfer is essential to strengthening local capabilities and ensuring long-term value creation across the MSGBC sector,” said Sandra Jeque, Events and Projects Director at Energy Capital & Power.

MSGBC Oil, Gas Power 2025 will be held in Dakar from December 8th to 10th with the theme Energy, Oil and Mining in Africa: Synergies for Inclusive Economic Development.
