With one month left until the resumption of major industry events in Angola, international investors, Angolan policymakers and regional operators are preparing to head to Luanda for Angola Oil and Gas (AOG)’s biggest event ever. Held on the eve of the 50th anniversary of independence, AOG 2025 will be held under the theme “Angola at 50: Oil and Gas as a Development Driver” and will examine how the lessons of the past 50 years will shape Angola’s next 50 years of oil and gas growth.

This year’s competition will be officially opened by President João Lorenzo of the Republic of Angola, setting the stage for the two-day event. Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas of Angola, will lead the discussion, and will also be joined by the Ministers of Hydrocarbons and Energy of Namibia, Gabon and APPO. Angola’s upstream and downstream regulators, ANPG and IRDP, are joining other global energy authorities, including national oil company Sonangol, the African Energy Chamber, ARDA and CITAC.

AOG 2025 will also see participation from major international carriers, including Murray Auchincloss, CEO of BP, Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni, Adriano Mongini, and Mike Sangster, Senior Vice President Africa at TotalEnergies. Independent operators such as Corcel, ReconAfrica, Afentra, Sintana Energy, FIRST E&P, Alfort Petroleum, Panoro Energy and Etu Energias are participating, as well as major corporations such as ExxonMobil, Petronas, Shell and Chevron. Leading service providers such as NOV, KAESO Energy Services, Cabship, Trafigura, FAMAR, Bosch and Emerson will be speakers, as well as financial and legal institutions such as African Finance Corporation, KPMG, CLG, EY and BODIVA will lead discussions.

AOG 2025 offers an expansion program covering the entire oil and gas value chain in Angola. The program is divided into three main tracks including the Strategic Track, Technical Track, and Trading and Showcase Track. These tracks will be held throughout the two-day main conference and cover a variety of strategic topics, from frontier exploration and production increases to onshore drilling and seismic exploration. Sessions will cover downstream advances and local content advances, as well as funding, technology solutions, STEM, trade, and more. The event will be preceded by a pre-conference program featuring presentations and workshops from industry experts.

This year, there will also be bigger and better exhibitions than ever before. At this exhibition, companies will demonstrate their innovative technologies, services and expertise, showcasing the best that Angola’s oil and gas can offer. AOG 2025 offers exclusive expo passes that allow strategic access to the exhibition venue. A series of networking features will drive engagement and deals, while the AOG 2025 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony will celebrate movers and change-makers across the industry.
