Interactive sessions were also held where stakeholders discussed key issues and future directions.
In his address, Dr. Ifeanyi Okonkwo, representing the Onitsha Sub-Region Assistant General Manager (Transmission), Engr. Enugu Region General Manager (Transmission), Dr. Thomas Inugonum, explained that the project is aimed at improving power supply in the region.

Both lines are designed to significantly increase power transmission capacity.
Earlier, PGM Nigeria Limited consultant Bassey Uzodinma explained that the number of affected structures was minimal and consisted mainly of residential and commercial buildings.
He pointed out that rights of way (RoW) have been reduced and the impact is mainly limited to fences, shops and similar structures. According to him, about 355 structures have been affected in Awka alone.
The Alaoji-Onitsha transmission line project crosses three states of Anambra, Abia and Imo in the South East.
