Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), Nigeria’s leading housing and construction show, has announced a strategic partnership with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for the upcoming 18th edition.
The event, to be held from 20 to 27 July 2024 at the National Stadium in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, will bring together top stakeholders from the housing and construction sector on the African continent to address the key theme of ‘Financing the Housing We Need’ and focus on sustainable housing and affordable housing solutions for low-income people, including homes that can withstand current challenges such as green building and climate change.
Mr. Festus Adebayo, AIHS Coordinator and Founder of Africa’s first Housing Television Station, announced in an official statement in Abuja that collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development gave a major boost to the event.
Adebayo also announced that Arc is honored to be a part of the Africa International Housing Show. Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, served as the chief emcee of the event.
He said the housing and construction industry has been waiting for the creation of an independent ministry dedicated to housing and urban development, and now it has finally happened.
He said the development would enable greater collaboration to address the housing shortage, with AIHS, which has consistently attracted leading brands in the housing and construction industry across the continent, serving as an important platform for such initiatives.
“With this collaboration, we can ensure that Africa can usher in a new dawn. Everything that needs to be done will be achieved through this collaboration. This is the 18th time, and we ensure that it is a platform that will bring more value, influence, and nurture a new generation of real estate leaders.”

Explaining the importance of securing the support of political leaders and policymakers, Mr. Adebayo explained, “As custodians of the land, governors and commissioners in all 36 states will play a critical role in addressing the housing shortage. Their support cannot be overstated.”
The convener also unveiled an impressive line-up of partners for the 18th edition, including Dangote Cement, Brains and Hammers, Family Homes Fund, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, National Assembly, Lafarge, Royal Ceramics, CDK, ThinkLab, which includes reputable bodies in the housing sector such as Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDANS), Housing Corporations Association of Nigeria. (AHCN), Nigerian Institute of Urban Planning (NITP), Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIOB) and others.
The event, which will feature more than 400 exhibitors, will create a platform for women in the sector, dedicate a day to real estate CEOs under 40, and host educational sessions and other activities.
The 18th AIHS will be broadcast live through Housing TV Africa (channel 149, StarTimes decoder) and the Housing TV mobile app, while also securing media collaboration with African Independent Television (AIT) and Television Continental (TVC), which is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience for all.
