Matone Ditlhake, CEO of Corridor Africa Technologies, said:

The digital divide continues to be a major challenge facing South Africa. Businesses and governments recognize this challenge and are working to close the digital divide and ensure that all citizens have access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity.

The South African government recognizes this challenge and is committed to promoting universal access to affordable and reliable ICT services. The National Integrated ICT Policy White Paper aims to create an enabling environment for the growth of the ICT sector, creating jobs and contributing to the country’s economic growth.

The private sector, particularly telecommunications infrastructure providers, is also taking the lead in helping South Africa address the challenges of digital inequality. Telecommunications providers are investing in extending network infrastructure to underserved areas and offering affordable data plans to their customers.

To address these challenges, the South African government has taken measures such as the South African National Broadband Plan, the Connected South Africa Initiative and the Telkom Connected Schools Programme. These initiatives aim to provide affordable and reliable broadband connectivity to all citizens, foster competition in the telecommunications sector, and provide access to essential services such as healthcare and education.

However, despite these efforts, major challenges remain, especially in terms of communications infrastructure. The country’s communications infrastructure faces many challenges, including inadequate infrastructure in some regions, lack of competition in the market, and high costs of data and voice services.

These challenges make it difficult for many South Africans, especially those living in rural and low-income areas, to access affordable and reliable internet connectivity.

Corridor Africa Technologies has established itself as a leading provider of digital solutions, addressing the issue of digital inequality among the challenges facing South Africa. The company recognizes that access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity is a key issue in closing the digital divide and ensuring equal opportunity for all citizens.

Telecommunications infrastructure providers recognize the importance of private sector efforts to complement government efforts to bridge the digital divide. Telecommunications providers are investing in extending network infrastructure to underserved areas and offering affordable data plans to their customers.

The Telkom Connected Schools program connects more than 800 schools across the country, giving students access to e-learning resources and opportunities to participate in the digital economy.

“We believe that access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity is a fundamental human right, and we are committed to playing our part in addressing digital inequalities in South Africa,” said Mattone Ditrache. CEO of Corridor Africa Technologies.

“As a leading provider of digital solutions, we recognize the importance of collaborative efforts between the private and public sectors in bridging the digital divide and ensuring equal opportunity for all citizens.”

To address these challenges, the government has taken a number of measures. These include the development of the South African National Broadband Plan, which aims to ensure that all citizens have access to high-speed internet connectivity by 2030.

The plan aims to achieve this by increasing competition in the communications sector, encouraging private investment in communications infrastructure, and ensuring that all citizens have access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity.

It also launched the South Africa Connect initiative, which aims to provide affordable and reliable broadband connectivity to all schools, hospitals and government offices in the country by 2025. The initiative is expected to play a key role in bridging the digital divide and ensuring that all citizens have access to essential services such as healthcare and education.

“Corridor Africa Technologies is committed to providing innovative digital solutions that facilitate access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity for all citizens, especially those in underserved communities. We are proud to support the South African Government’s efforts to promote universal access to affordable and reliable ICT services, foster growth in the ICT sector, create jobs and contribute to the country’s economic growth,” he explains.

The company believes that through collaborative efforts between the private and public sectors, South Africa can close the digital divide and ensure that all citizens enjoy the benefits of the digital age.

These efforts by the private sector play an important role in complementing government efforts to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all South Africans have access to the benefits of the digital age.
