As major energy projects move forward across the MSGBC region, countries are preparing for the next stage of development. The next MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference and exhibition, to be held in Dakar from December 8th to 10th, will not only introduce new opportunities but also connect global finance with regional projects. Key executives from the investment, financial services and infrastructure sectors from across Africa will attend the event, highlighting MSGBC’s renewed confidence in the energy opportunity.

Speakers include Sadio Wade, Vice President of Energy Infrastructure at Actis; Mr. Antoine John Esther, COO, West and Central Africa, Trade and Development Bank (TDB). and Aïda Mbaye, Senior Manager, Performance Group Strategy. Their participation highlights the role of MSGBC Oil and Gas Power 2025 as a leading forum for investment, partnerships and project development in the region, and is expected to create new opportunities for capital expenditures and enhanced partnerships.

Explore opportunities, foster partnerships and remain at the forefront of the oil, gas and power sector in the MSGBC region. TDB has recently advanced several initiatives to inject capital into Africa’s frontier oil and gas markets. In October, the financial institution partnered with the Angolan Government Wealth Fund to establish the Angola Export Trade Development Facility to mobilize funds into strategic sectors such as logistics, agro-industry and regional integration. With operations in eastern and southern Africa, TDB plays an important role in promoting trade, regional integration and sustainable development through the provision of trade finance, project and infrastructure finance, asset management and business advisory services. In April 2024, the bank signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in financing Senegal’s trade and development. The agreement establishes a framework to promote cooperation and sustainable economic growth in energy, infrastructure, health, education, financial institutions, agriculture, and food security.

Meanwhile, Actis has become a key player in renewable energy in the MSGBC region. Actis, through its former portfolio company Lekera Power, developed the 159MW Taiba Ndiaye wind farm in Senegal, which reached full commercial operation in 2021 and currently supplies electricity to more than 2 million people. Actis successfully exited Lekera in March 2023, transferring ownership to Infinity Power while maintaining its focus on sustainable infrastructure investment and long-term development in the region.

Performances Group supports energy and infrastructure projects throughout the MSGBC region with strategic, operational, and project performance services. The company works closely with local stakeholders to optimize management, increase investment efficiency, improve business execution and support infrastructure and industrial development in complex regional markets.

“Actis, TDB and Performance Group continue to demonstrate their leadership in driving energy and infrastructure development across the MSGBC region and are delighted to welcome Sadio Wade, Antoine John Esther and Aida Mbaye to this year’s program,” said Sandra Jeke, Events and Projects Director at Energy Capital & Power.
