MAG Group for Investment and Trade has announced expansion in several African countries following the signing of new agreements with Chad, Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso.

The agreement covers projects in the infrastructure, mining, health and development sectors as part of a broader effort to strengthen economic cooperation between Egypt and African markets.

MAG Group Chairman Mohamed Atta Gad said the company operates through an integrated economic model that combines mining, industry, logistics, trade, infrastructure and food production. He noted that this approach supports long-term development partnerships across the continent, while strengthening Egypt’s economic presence in Africa.

In the mining sector, Atta Gad said MAG Group has signed an agreement with the Republic of Chad that grants the company concessions for the extraction and development of economically valuable minerals. The project will be implemented using advanced exploration and processing techniques and in line with international environmental and technical standards.

The concession area contains strategic minerals such as gold, silver, zinc and lead, as well as antimony, which are widely used in the energy, electronics and high technology industries. He added that the value of the global mining market is approaching US$220 billion.

The group has deployed a specialized team of geologists and geophysicists with advanced surveying and electromagnetic exploration systems to identify mineral reserves and assess production potential.

In parallel, a gold processing and refining factory is currently being built in the Cairo Industrial Zone. The facility aims to convert raw materials sourced from African markets into refined bullion for industrial and investment use, supporting Egypt’s ambitions to become a regional hub for gold processing as the country’s gold exports increase.

As part of its regional expansion strategy, MAG Group has opened six branches in countries in the Sahel and Sahara region, with official support from host governments.

In the transport and logistics sector, the group reported that in 2025 it will operate more than 1,350 trucks, transporting hundreds of thousands of tonnes of goods across Africa and regional markets. These activities included supplying cement to Sudan, Libya and Chad. Chemical fertilizers to Sudan. and supply construction materials to various regional markets.

MAG Group said it has developed an integrated operating system covering land, sea and air transportation supported by customs clearance, risk management and cargo insurance services. The company was founded in 1994 as a logistics provider and has since expanded into international trade and infrastructure development.

The group is also involved in renewable energy and infrastructure projects, such as building a road between Egypt and Sudan and participating in the Cairo-Cape Town expressway project.

MAG Group currently operates in Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Chad, several West African countries, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The company’s logistics fleet includes approximately 200 heavy-duty and specialty trucks and plans to expand capacity by 60%.

In addition, the company owns 600 feddan agricultural projects in Aswan, supports food security initiatives, and operates a regional development arm through the Atta Gad Foundation.
